The first recorded history of stained glass windows trace back to the 10th century. Since then, the art of stained glass has gone through many changes, but the basic concept of shaping pieces of glass, and joining together has not changed. And neither has our desire to create and be surrounded by items of beauty. If you’ve ever wanted to give it a try, sign up for our Beginning Class, and explore learning the art of stained glass for yourself.
Our four week course is designed to give you the skills needed to build stained glass panels using the copper foil technique that was developed by Louis Tiffany. Select one of our beginning patterns and create a stained glass panel from the glass of your own choosing. Students will learn how to cut glass, prepare a pattern, solder and finish a panel.
The class fee includes instruction and the use of our tools. A required Supply Kit and the cost of your glass are additional. This class meets every Tuesday for four weeks each month.
